Management:
The Proof of Concept Institute, Inc. is a 501c3 public benefit California nonprofit corporation located in La Jolla, California. Founder Jack Savidge has experience coaching governments, global industrial firms and institutions of higher learning on how-to assess their unique cultures, in order to embrace and encourage entrepreneurial activity.
Jack is the author of two books, Marketing Intelligence - Discover What Your Customers Really Want and What Your Competition Is Up To! and The Pathmaster Guidebook – Mentors, Coaches, Gurus and Angels. He has been a consultant to the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) for over 25 years and currently serves as the Founder, Executive Advisor of the William J. von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism & Technology Advancement.
At 3M Company early in his career, he was a team member to review company-wide employee ideas for possible new internal ventures. Among those selected, one led 3M into the medical products field. Another, that Jack championed caused industry adoption of the 3M magnetic stripe on credit cards and airline tickets. He advised Eastman Kodak Company, Bank of America, The Lockheed Corporation, and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) executives how to implant venturing environments into their organization.
As a consultant, he transfered his PoC knowledge, mentored and coached dedicated internal PoC managers to implement best practices designed to fit their cultures. In 1999, UCSD tasked him to architect and plan a PoC initiative for the Jacobs Schoool of Engineering that led to a $10 million philanthropic implementation gift. In 2008, UCSD's von Liebig Center was acclaimed by the prestigious Kauffman Foundation as being one of two outstanding "proof-of-concept" models (Click here to read article).
At The Proof-of-Concept Institute, he will facilitate best practice, success and failure exchanges between proof-of-concepts managers to accelerate innovations to more significant commercial value.
